The Reckoning International Statement of Faith
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible,
authoritative Word of God. God chose each word carefully in the
original manuscripts to communicate His heart and will for all
peopole. It is our standard of life and practice. We speak its
truth in love.
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three
persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe that God
relates to us intimately and is personally involved with His
creation. He works to accomplish His will on earth as it is in
heaven.
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin
birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and
atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily
resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and
in His personal return in power and glory.
We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people,
regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. It is the
privilege of all who are born again of the Spirit to be assured of
their salvation from the very moment in which they trust Christ
as their Savior. This work is by faith alone in the atoning work
of Jesus Christ. God reconciled us to Himself through Christ and
gave us the ministry of reconciliation. We are Christ’s
ambassadors.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose
indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. He
instructs us in truth, guides us, and empowers us for ministry.
We seak to be led by Him and walk as sons and daughters of
God.
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost;
they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are
lost unto separation from God eternally.
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus
Christ. We honor the Body of Christ, His church, and pray that
every church will be life giving and centered in His will. We
trust that God knows who are His own and that every servant in
every church will be affirmed or corrected by Him, not by us.
We believe that the family is the basic governmental, social, and
spiritual unit created by God. We believe the New Testament
reality that there is neither Jew nor Gentile, slave nor free, male
nor female, we are all one in Christ Jesus. While we are no
longer defined by these distinctions, we are called to live out
God’s purposes for life, marriage, and our personal identities in
accordance with His life-giving plan.
